This week, the Upper Moreland community experienced a tremendous loss with the passing of Mr. Howard Cohen, beloved school psychologist and member of our school community. Mr. Cohen dedicated over 36 years of service to our district before his retirement in 2016, yet he continued to be an active presence in our schools through coaching, advising clubs, and providing support to students and staff.

Throughout his nearly four decades with Upper Moreland, Mr. Cohen made a lasting impact. He dedicated his time to helping others and instilling the importance of service above self with the students he advised. As Key Club advisor, he organized blood drives, food drives, Special Olympics activities, and other service programs. He was deeply involved in Mini-THON, working with students to raise thousands of dollars in the fight against childhood cancer. In addition to these roles, he coached both golf and bowling, supporting students both in and out of the classroom.

We are holding his family and our school community close in our thoughts as we navigate this difficult time together.
