Announcement of UMHS early dismissal on 4/15 at 11 AM due to AC issues.

UPDATE: 4/15 @ 4:46 PM

Dear Upper Moreland Community,

This message serves as a follow up regarding the air conditioning system at the high school. The system is now operational and cooling the building. Upper Moreland High School will operate normally tomorrow, Thursday, April 16th.

Thanks to our facilities crew for their diligence today to fix this issue.

Thank you, again, for your flexibility and understanding.

Dear Upper Moreland Community,

The air conditioning system at Upper Moreland High School is currently not functioning properly in most of the school building. As a result, many classroom temperatures have already reached approximately 80 degrees this morning, and are expected to continue rising as outdoor temperatures approach the 90s.

To ensure the health and safety of our students, Upper Moreland High School students will dismiss early today, Wednesday, April 15 at 11:00 AM.

Grab and Go lunches will be available to students prior to dismissal.

Students attending Eastern Center for Arts and Technology will follow their normal schedule. The PM students will be provided a comfortable space until they are dismissed and bused for their afternoon session.

Any student who is unable to leave the school building at 11:00 AM, including those participating in athletics or other afterschool activities, will have access to a supervised, climate-controlled space within the building for the remainder of the day.

We appreciate your understanding and flexibility as our facilities team works to resolve this issue. We will continue to monitor building conditions closely, and will provide an update later this afternoon regarding plans for tomorrow.
