Good Morning. Today is Friday, May 16, 2025. It is a PURPLE day.
Please rise for the pledge of allegiance. I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands; one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. You may be seated.
May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Here is your Mental Health tip of the day: If you can’t fall asleep, don’t fight yourself. Instead, do something soothing. Lying in bed thinking about how you can’t sleep can end up causing more stress...that only leads to less sleep. Instead, listen to your body and get out of bed. Do something relaxing, like reading or coloring, for just 10 or 20 minutes. Then, give sleep another go.
May is Jewish American Heritage Month. This month encourages discovery, exploration, and celebration of the American Jewish experience. Here is a Jewish American Heritage Month fact. No community is monolithic. Even with shared memories, heritage, traditions, texts, and rituals all groups possess their own internal diversity. This is true for Jewish people whose longevity as a globally dispersed community living in diaspora has resulted in cultural, linguistic, ethnic, religious, and racial variation. Such complex and intersectional identities are evidence of cultural exchange and blending. Jewish people, like all people, participate in cultural exchange and diffusion, disagreement and debate, allowing for an array of authentically Jewish forms of expression to exist. This is evident in the ways holidays are celebrated, religious rituals, in cuisine, language and forms of communication, and aesthetics, among other types of dynamic change and fusion.
The final meeting of the debate club will be after school on Monday in Room 414. New members are welcome. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Fisher.
Do you want to eat some cultural food? Play games and hang out with friends? Next week, all students are invited to the Diversity Club's End of Year Kickback event in the Lower Library next Wednesday, May 21st from 2:25pm-4:15pm. We hope to see you there! Come out to wish our seniors well, and for an afternoon of fun!.
The last PE make up days are coming up. Please make sure you get points for any missed classes! Meet at the fitness center at 2:30 on the following days ready to sweat. Wednesday, May 21st, Thursday, May 22nd, Tuesday, May 27th, Wednesday, May 28th.
Key Club members: our last meeting is this Monday night at 6 pm in the library. $5 per person for all the Pizza, desserts, drinks, and awards and prizes. Installation of our new officers. All members are welcome!
Purple and Gold day is BACK! Get ready to trade your textbooks for tug-of-war ropes, your Chromebooks for cornhole and spikeball, and your class notes for footballs, kickballs and soccer balls! This is your chance to hang out with your friends, soak up the sun, eat some good food, and show off your game-day skills. We've got field games, dunk tanks, inflatables, challenges, music, team competitions, and yes Tug of War! Whether you’re here to go full beast mode in the relay race, crush the volleyball court/basketball court, or just vibe with friends, Purple and Gold day is about fun, relaxation, and making lasting memories. Purple and Gold day is next Friday May 30th after block 2. And don’t forget — this is more than just a day off classes. It’s a chance to show what your class is made of. So bring the hype, bring the teamwork, and bring your best energy!
