The theme for Arab American Heritage Month is “Honoring the Past, Inspiring the Future.” The celebration can be traced back to 1990. It became a National Initiative in 2017 and national Arab America Heritage Month was proclaimed by a congressional resolution in 2019. The first Official Federal recognition of Arab American Heritage Month was in 2021. Some 2025 recipients of the 20 under 20 recognition are highlighted in our daily facts. If you are interested in highlighting a UM student, please complete the Student Spotlight in the Student News.
