Welcome to the Upper Moreland High School Concert Band webpage.  Concert Band is a full year course intended for instrumental musicians with prior band experience.  The Concert Band performs classic and contemporary band music interweaved with discussions and skill building exercises that address historical, theoretical, expressive, technical, and ensemble performance issues specific to the selected repertoire.  The primary goal of concert band participation is to advance each student's individual and ensemble musicianship skills and empower each student to pursue lifelong music making on an amateur or professional level. 

Advanced Concert Band members are encouraged to audition for the PMEA District 11 Band and Orchestra honor ensembles. Click HERE for a detailed list of required music and an explanation of scale requirements for each instrument.

Private lessons for all students are strongly encouraged.  While the ensemble environment can teach you many skills, a private teacher can make a huge difference in your personal achievement and satisfaction.
