Congratulations to the UMHS Rotary Student of the Month for January, Ella Gould!
Ella is an outstanding student leader who exemplifies dedication, compassion, and service. She serves as Captain of Varsity Field Hockey and Unified Bocce, and will also compete in Varsity Lacrosse this spring. Beyond athletics, Ella holds several leadership roles, including President of Interact Club, Vice President of National Honor Society, and School Board Student Representative, and is actively involved in UMatter, Unified Club, the Superintendent’s Advisory Council, and Mini-THON as Fundraising Chair Head.
Ella’s commitment to helping others extends well beyond the school day. She works part-time at Wesley Enhanced Living, volunteers at the Willow Grove Baptist Church Food Pantry and Cradles to Crayons, and plays a key role in supporting UM families through coat drives, food drives, the Bear Den, and school-wide awareness initiatives. She gives her time not because it is required, but because serving others truly matters to her.
Despite her many commitments, Ella maintains a strong academic record while taking AP and Honors courses. She plans to attend Penn State University Park, majoring in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Ella truly embodies the Rotary motto, Service Above Self, and we are proud to recognize her as a Golden Bear. #UMProud
