UMMS 6th-graders in Mr. Feldman's Social Studies class brought history to life as they traveled to Ancient Mesopotamia, with their culminating event being the Marshmallow Catapult War Games. Students became members of ancient city-states, strategized, and battled it out in three challenges: Distance, Accuracy, and the Knock Out Round! Students also researched and constructed Ziggurats - each city-state built its temple with unique touches that reflect their personality and identity. Hats off to Mr. Feldman and his students for turning learning into an immersive experience and unforgettable adventure! 👏 #UMProud #HandsOnHistory #ImmersiveLearningExperience

Check out the 7th-grade CO2 Dragster project in Mr. DeFranco's class at UMMS! 🏎️ In this Problem-Solving Activity, students explore aerodynamics & design CO2-powered vehicles to meet design requirements. Using Computer-Aided Design (CAD), students render a 3D model of their vehicle & test their design before constructing a physical prototype model of their idea in the materials lab. Students used their creativity to paint & personalize their creations, making each car a unique masterpiece! 🎨 #UMProud #StudentInnovation #ProblemSolving
