Title I School Parent & Family Engagement Plan

The Upper Moreland Elementary School, in collaboration with our Title I Parent Advisory Council, has jointly developed and agreed upon this Title I School Parent and Family Engagement Plan. The purpose of this plan is to encourage and increase parent participation in the development and implementation of our school programs.

The Upper Moreland Elementary School Title I Advisory Council is composed of Title I staff, parents and caregivers of Title I students, and building administration. The Council annually reviews and makes modifications as needed to the Title I School Parent and Family Engagement Plan.

The Title I School Parent and Family Engagement Plan was devised in accordance with Federal requirements. Title I funds are utilized to provide parents with support and the opportunity to attend meetings and workshops. Title I funds will help provide families with childcare, transportation, and materials.

Upper Moreland Township School District provides technical assistance and support to schools in planning and implementing effective parent and family engagement activities to improve student academic achievement and school performance. Collaboration occurs with the IT department to ensure technology is accessible to all students and families in order to enable engagement in instructional resources and family programs. This includes, but not limited to, support in program and resource implementation, hardware and software updating, and direct

parent/family communication channels to technology staff. Resources have also been established to support translation for families whose primary language is not English.
