Technology Education Curriculum

Mission Statement

Our mission in the Upper Moreland Township School District Technology Education program is to promote the application of technological concepts, processes, and systems. Our student-centered program utilizes problem solving experiences to make connections between concepts and real world solutions with a focus on creating tangible products. Through our program students will acquire the necessary technological skills to be successful in 21st Century careers.

Overview

The goal of the 6-12 Technology Education program is to foster the development of essential skills enabling students to understand how technologies are developed and used. 
The Technology Education program utilizes problem-based activities which allow students the opportunity to understand and evaluate technological solutions and their effects on the environment and society itself.

High School Technology Education Pathways

The purpose of the elective pathway is to give students who have a particular interest or future plans in Technology Education to select related courses that will give them the opportunity to explore topics in that particular field. Students DO NOT have to follow any of the elective pathways, and are welcome to take any elective where they meet the grade level and academic performance pre-requisites.
