Mission Statement

Our mission in the Upper Moreland School District is to provide a comprehensive Physical Education program that is designed to enhance the physical, intellectual, emotional, and social development of all students providing the knowledge and skills necessary to promote and maintain lifelong wellness and fitness.

Overview

The goal of the K-12 physical education curriculum is to help students become responsible citizens who are physically educated.  Each student will set and achieve personally challenging goals in physical activity, apply higher order thinking skills to human movement, and design personal movement and fitness plans.  The K-12 physical education program is designed so that the student will be exposed to a variety of activities that enhance physical fitness and skill development.  Students will be able to display the skills and practices of a physically active lifestyle, by gaining knowledge and a proficiency of activities the students will learn to enjoy and use them for life long health benefits.  The student will learn the value of regular physical activity and its contribution to a healthy lifestyle.
