Upper Moreland School District Return to School Plan
October 19, 2020
Dear Upper Moreland Families:Thanks to your support and patience, UMTSD continues to work on its Return to School Plan. With the hope that COVID-19 metrics for the county will remain aligned with established benchmarks by Monday, November 2, Upper Moreland Township School District is diligently refining its plans for reopening our schools for in-person instruction as presented at the Programs and Services Committee Meeting on September 1, 2020 (click here for the recording). As per the plan, the results of the family survey to determine your child(ren)'s choice to either remain in a virtual learning environment or return to school in a hybrid face to face environment has been used to determine assignments within the hybrid or virtual model. ECommunicators were distributed to families on October 19 with information specific to their choice and assignment.Students who selected the hybrid face-to-face model were assigned to GROUP A (attending hybrid face-to-face school on Mondays and Tuesdays) or GROUP B (attending hybrid face-to-face school on Thursdays and Fridays). Although past communication indicated the general breakdown for assignments in the hybrid model will be A-L on Monday/Tuesday and M-Z on Thursday/Friday, our focus has been to keep students with their current teachers/classes with the goal to provide maximum social distancing. Students may be assigned to days different then their last name. Importantly, please pay close attention to the hybrid schedule details and important dates. In the upcoming weeks, we will share additional information about daily schedules, transportation, preparing your child for a hybrid return, and what specific days students will be attending based upon transitional (k,3,6,9) grade orientations. Members of our administrative team are here to support you in the Return to School Transition. For specific questions about your child, please reach out to your school principal.
