Wellness In-service DayOn April 24, 2012, the Upper Moreland Township School District provided a staff in-service day focused on wellness. A keynote speaker, Althea Zanecosky, provided an opening address on nutrition education. Following this address, all professional staff participated in two different wellness sessions from four strands: Physical Activity, Mind and Body, Environmental Sustainability and Nutrition Education. These strands supported the work of the Wellness Committee. The mission of the Upper Moreland School District's Wellness Committee is to promote lifelong health, well being, and the ability to learn by supporting the whole child; physically, emotionally, intellectually, and socially in a healthy school environment. This day was a huge success for the Wellness Committee. All professional staff were extremely appreciative of the hard work the Wellness Committee did to make this day possible.
