Matthew M. Lentz
Matthew M. Lentz is the Chief Financial Officer/Board Secretary for the Upper Moreland School District. Mr. Lentz holds a Master of Public Administration Degree from the University of Pittsburgh and is a Certified Administrator of School Finance and Operations (SFO®). In 2007, Mr. Lentz completed the Advanced Governmental Finance Institute through the University of Wisconsin Madison and the Government Finance Officers Association.
Currently in his 18th year as a school business administrator, Mr. Lentz has worked with both urban and suburban school districts representing an array of economic and demographic settings. Mr. Lentz is a past member of the board of directors of the Pennsylvania Association of School Business Administrators (PASBO). He currently serves on both the Accounting and Human Resource Committees for PASBO, as a chair for the Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO) and as a member of the Executive Board for the Government Finance Officers Association. In 2018 he was appointed to the Board for the School Districts Insurance Consortium and the Southeastern Pennsylvania Schools Trust (SEPaST) both of which provide cost effective nonprofit insurance services to Upper Moreland School District.
He is the Author of The Mystery in School Finances: Discovering Answers in Community-Based Budgeting and is a frequent presenter for GFOA, ASBO and PASBO.
