    Virtual Backpack

In an effort to go “green”, the Upper Moreland Township School District will now distribute information for non-profit organizations with an event or service of interest to our students and parents online through our newly renamed Virtual Backpack link (formerly the Wednesday Folder).  Paper copies will no longer be distributed in the schools.  Please use the following Guidelines to submit any flyers to be included in the Virtual Backpack webpage.

    • All flyers require Superintendent’s approval and should be sent electronically to Dawn Hurt,
    • Executive Assistant to the Superintendent, at dhurt@umtsd.orgor faxed to 215-659-0904.
    • The event should be in or very close to, our attendance boundaries and should be of interest to or involve students.
    • Organizations interested in posting a flyer should email an electronic copy of the flyer no later than Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. of the same week you want your flyer uploaded to the Virtual Backpack. Each school will have their own Virtual Backpack link so please indicate which school(s) and/or grade levels you want your flyer linked to. IMPORTANT: Please include a contact name and phone number and/or email address in the event we need to reach you.
    • Your flyer will be posted in the Virtual Backpack on Thursday morning of the week you requested by you, and will remain there until the event has taken place.
    • If your organization has a website, you may want to include a hyperlink within your document so your website will be easily accessed by anyone viewing your flyer.
    • Events may also be posted on the district’s cable network Bear News Network ( BNN). Please indicate in your email or on your fax cover sheet if you wish to have your event posted on BNN. The length of run time on BNN is at the sole discretion of the Producer. Because items viewed on television appear differently than they do on paper, please see “Guidelines for Posting Information on BNN”.
