    Resources: Wonders Literacy teacher manuals, McGraw Hill Training Video, varied resources and online resources

    September 25, 2019- Review of Wonders Program and overview of the materials.  Teachers will plan instruction and discuss writing goals for the year.

    October 15, 2019- Teachers will explore instructional grouping and resources to use during guided reading groups. Video and share: foundational skills. Discussion: How is it going with Phonics/Fundations?

    November13, 2019- Deeper exploration of lesson essentials/ assessments and pacing of lessons- Teachers will explore small group training videos that highlight the essentials of the Wonders Program. Work on assessment cover sheets/parent reporting.  Discuss report card grades.

    December 11, 2019- Deeper exploration of lesson essentials/ assessments and pacing of lessons (Part 2)-How are we incorporating the writing curriculum into lesson planning? Video and share: Close Reading Companion. Discussion: How is it going with Close Reading Companion?

    January 22, 2020- Using graphic organizers to enhance instruction.  Video and share: Graphic Organizers Discussion: How is it going with Reading/Writing Workshop?

    February 12, 2020- Using formative assessment to create word work flexible groups. Video and Share:
    Word Work. Discussion: How is it going with word work during guided reading?

    April 22, 2020- Differentiating your literacy lessons for tier 1, tier 2, tier 3, ELs and learning support. Gaining a deeper understanding of content in order to differentiate instruction.

    What types of questions can teachers and students ask that require evidence from the text? Review and Reflection of the lessons taught using the Close Reading Strategies reviewed.

    January 23, 2020: Text Dependent Analysis Reflecting on Instructional Practices. Sample graphic organizers/anchor charts/TDA lessons. Sample student work. Review and discuss TDA follow-up lessons based on feedback. Teachers share effective strategies and sample graphic organizers. Implement follow up lessons to address next steps for instruction in TDAs.

    April 16, 2020: Vocabulary Routines Reflect and discuss vocabulary activity or routine implemented. Develop lessons in Social Studies, Literacy, and Science using these vocabulary strategies and routines. Implement vocabulary routines and lessons in core content areas.
