Dear Parent/Guardian:

Since last year, our School District has been experimenting with a “list serve” arrangement.  List serves allow us to e-mail groups of people who have signed up to receive information on a regular basis from the school district.  Many of you probably signed up for this service last year or at the beginning of this year.  At this time, we are hoping to expand the service and begin to utilize it on a regular basis.

Our new list serve, which we are naming “Upper Moreland e-communicator,” will allow us to send messages to parents and community members whenever appropriate.  Currently, we are developing individual list serve categories for the primary school, kindergarten, grade one, grade two, intermediate school, grade three, grade four, grade five, intermediate school special education, middle school, high school principal, high school daily announcements and school news, high school guidance, high school sports and activities, superintendent’s message, and key communicator information.  Parents and community members who wish to receive e-mails from one or more of these categories will be able to sign up through our web-site. 

We are hopeful that by establishing these list serves, we will be able to provide updated and ongoing information to all of our constituent groups on a regular basis.   Typically, you will receive information for each of the groups that you have identified upon registration.  During an emergency such as a snow day or a school lock down, information will be sent simultaneously to all of the list serves at once, providing us with an instant method for communicating with a large segment of our school community.

To receive information from one or more of our list serves, you will need to register. This will need to be done even if you had previously registered for our list serves last year, or since the beginning of this year.  Please take a moment to register (or re-register) through our school district website (www.umtsd.org).  Follow the links from the front page to “sign up for the new List Serve - UM e-communicator”.  Be sure to choose all of the categories that are of interest to you.
