UMPS Welcomes
Children’s Author
Alexander Stadler
On
June 6, 2008

On Friday June 6th, the students of the Primary School will have the opportunity to spend some time with children’s author and illustrator, Alexander Stadler.  Mr. Stadler, a resident of Philadelphia, will share the work of authors and illustrators that inspired him when he was a young reader.  He will also point out secrets from the texts of his books and reveal author’s craft. During the assemblies, the students will have an opportunity to create a story as Mr. Stadler illustrates it.  The illustrations will be left with the school for classes to use as part of discussions and activities. Mr. Stadler will also spend time answering questions and signing books that the students preordered.

In anticipation of his arrival, all of the Primary School will be engaged in an author study.  Within the classroom, teachers will be sharing Mr. Stadler’s books and biography while working on extension activities.  Some of our specialist teachers will also be working with his books and connecting the topic to their specialty area.

The Primary School Staff are very excited to be able to have a local children’s author come to share his knowledge with our students.  We would like to thank the HSA and Mrs. Emerick for providing the funds for this program.

What do we do if our family will be moving out or within the Upper Moreland School District at the end of the school year or during the summer?
Contact your child’s school office as soon as possible.  You will need to provide the office secretary with your new address and the new school name and address.  The school secretary will then prepare the withdrawal paperwork which you will need to sign off on removing your child from the Upper Moreland School District rolls.  The school secretary will also provide you with a copy of your child’s immunization record, a copy of your child’s last report card, and transfer card.

If you are moving within the Upper Moreland School District. You will need to provide the school secretary with a new Proof of Residency which will consist of a Property Deed, Mortgage Statement or current lease agreement. In addition, one or more of the following must be presented: Internal Revenue Statement, current Bank Statement, Driver’s License, or current Utility Bill bearing the address on the Property Deed, Mortgage Statement or current Lease.
