From the Principal

Dear Parents/Guardians:
As the end of the year unfolds, we begin thinking about the excitement summer vacation will bring. I first want to ask each member of the UM Community to reflect on the 2007-2008 school year. We have much to celebrate and be proud of. Your child has worked very hard accomplishing a very demanding and rigorous program. I have watched as the children have grown physically, emotionally, and academically. I truly feel that the staff has prepared your child to move to the next level. I would like to encourage our students to have fun this summer while spending time with family and friends. At the same time, I would encourage your child to spend some time each day practicing the skills they worked so hard to acquire. Our staff created a challenging and fun summer activity packet. This is not meant to put unnecessary stress on your child, but to be done throughout the summer in a fun and engaging manner. I want to wish everyone a wonderful, restful summer and l look forward to seeing you August 28th for our welcome back Open House (2:30 – 4:00 PM).
Sincerely,
Sean Arney

Required Summer Activities
All students entering first and second grade will be receiving a Summer Learning Booklet along with their report card in June. Over the summer each student is required to complete the activities within the booklet and return it to their new teacher in September. The booklet also includes ideas for books to read and resources such as websites and magazines for parents and children to enjoy. Other grade levels should look for summer activity information in the next few weeks from the Intermediate School staff. |
IMPORTANT MESSAGES
from the
Nurse’s Corner
Mrs. Kathy Zanine, RN, BSN
Parents, if your child has any medication in the nurse's office, please remember to come and pick it up before the last day of school June 12th. The children are not permitted to carry any medication around school or to and from school. Any medication that is left beyond the last day of school will get discarded.
Also, just a reminder that all physical, dental and immunizations need to be current and a copy sent in to the nurse for a student's file. The school physician will be coming in the first week of June to perform a brief physical for any kindergarten or first grade student who does not have one on record. |
