Tuesday “A” Day Committees:
BOOK FAIR
This committee will work closely with the school librarian to plan and conduct book fair and book fair related activities.
READING INCENTIVE / TEDDY BEAR READING CELEBRATION
This committee is responsible for planning and conducting the annual Reading Incentive Program (theme planning, displays, communications to staff and parents). In addition, this committee is charged with planning and developing a school-wide culminating activity for all classes to celebrate literacy and to kick off summer reading. This end of year event will be held on 6/6/08.
Tuesday “B” Day Committees:
CURRICULUM FAIR
This committee will organize plan and host a Curriculum Fair night activity scheduled for 1/30/08.
PURPLE AND GOLD DAY
This committee is responsible for planning, organizing, and conducting the annual Purple/Gold Day Activities (planning and communication). The committee is also responsible for “set-up” and “take-down” on the day of the event (5/23/08).
Friday “A” Day Committees:
CHARACTER EDUCATION / DIVERSITY / GOOD NEWS / PRO SOCIAL
This committee consists of teachers interested in organizing and planning school-wide initiatives related to character education virtues and themes and on providing staff updates, guidelines, and training on the district’s Pro Social Model. In addition, this committee is charged with planning and organizing activities to promote school-wide appreciation and understanding of the differences of others. The committee also is responsible for planning/organizing the annual Diversity Day (1/15/2008) events.
ENVIROTHON
This committee will focus on preparing a day long event (5/15/2008) for all 2nd Grade students and teachers. Activities will be developed that will focus on science related environmental topics.
Friday “B” Day Committees:
HUNDRED DAY CELEBRATION
This committee is responsible for planning and organizing a Schoolwide 100 Day Celebration (2/6/08). Activities should focus on ways in which students can use reading, writing, speaking, listening, and mathematics to develop the concept of “100”.
STUDENT MENTORING COMMITTEE
This committee will meet to discuss at risk students to determine interventions and strategies in order for the student to be successful in their daily learning. Members will be assigned student(s) as needs arise.
Friday “C” Day Committees:
SCHOOL CLIMATE / SOCIAL / SUNSHINE
This committee is responsible for developing initiatives and incentive programs designed to create/monitor a positive school climate. Membership on the committee will include the principal, member of the social committee, primary teachers (2), specialists (2), and support staff (2).
This committee is also responsible for assisting with conducting planned activities.
This committee manages the Sunshine Funding according to established guidelines. The committee also organizes social events to promote a positive school climate.

TEACHER REPRESENTATIVE – HOME AND SCHOOL ASSOCIATION
These individuals serve as teacher liaisons at the monthly H.S.A. meetings. They are responsible for reporting school/classroom happenings at the H.S.A. meeting and giving a report of the H.S.A. meetings at faculty meetings.
