Dear Parents of an 8th Grade Canada Traveler: The purpose of this letter is to update you on the latest news surrounding our Canada trip. I realize this letter is lengthy; however, all the information is vital to keeping our lines of communication open and to the success of our long awaited trip. Please call or email me if you have any questions.

First and foremost is the date of your final installment. Friday, April 4th. Please use the attached form and make checks payable to Upper Moreland School District. As you can probably tell, I have extended this date because I have been late in sending you a reminder. The Flea Market and the Italian dinner have kept me very busy this year!!!

||
Next, is a serious reminder about trip refunds. We can only guarantee 100% refund until Tuesday, April 29th. After that date, reservations with our hotels and other venues will have been made and canceling them is not an option without financial cost to us. Please remind your child of his/her responsibility to maintain grade and behavior requirements up until the date of our departure. These requirements for participation were clearly outlined at our first meeting in the fall. If you need clarification, please do not hesitate to call me. Behavior records will be monitored and participation criteria enforced through the date of our departure.

Click here for a form to reserve tickets for our final fundraiser. Our 5th Annual “Festa Italiana” will be held on Friday, April 18th in our school cafeteria and Commons area. This event is being generously catered by Carrabba’s Italian Grill on Maryland Road. The price for this all you can eat affair is $15.00 per adult and $8.00 per child (ages 3 to 8). Also included that evening will be several Basket Raffles. This promises to be a fun night as donations from local and national businesses and restaurants include baskets of goods, gift certificates, sports memorabilia, etc. Again, help us spread the word by telling your family, neighbors and friends and by getting your tickets early. Tickets for the dinner are on sale now. Please know that your child can earn ‘checks’ by selling tickets. S/he can earn a check for every 3 tickets sold. Please also know that we have limited seating. So please get your tickets early!!!!

Students can volunteer to serve as wait staff during the Festa dinner to receive checks. See Mrs. Petrash to volunteer. We only need a limited number of staff. Your volunteering is on a first come first served basis.

Once again, we will need baked goods donations for the Italian Fiesta. You will be receiving a phone call asking if you would like to contribute to our dessert table. Please label your dessert with your child’s name so that we can give him/her proper credit.

Prior to our departure date, there will be a mandatory meeting on Monday, May 12th at 7:30pm in the Auditorium for both parents and travelers. During this meeting you will gain specific information about the itinerary of our trip and details concerning what to pack. At this meeting, I will also distribute earnings from your hard work of fundraising this year.
