Dear Parents,
Salut! Bonjour! Once again Upper Moreland Middle School has joined forces with Jumpstreet Tours to offer an exciting and educational trip to Montreal and Quebec, Canada. A luxury bus will leave the Middle School at 9 p.m., Thursday, May 29th, 2008 and return at approximately 9 p.m. on Monday June 2nd. This invitation is extended to 8th graders only.
Our trip has been designed to be culturally and historically informative. Highlights of our trip include a visit to the Old Walled City, the Plains of Abraham, the Ste. Anne-de-Beaupre Shrine, as well as a dance-boat cruise across the St. Lawrence River, a 17th century Quebecois meal, and buggy rides. They will also tour Old Montreal, the Latin Quarters, the Biodome…and more. Our students will experience firsthand the language and cultural diversity from our neighbors to the North. Parents of our participating students will receive a detailed itinerary as we near our departure date.
The basic cost of the trip is $695.00 per student. Included in the price are: 3 nights accommodations at the hotels in Quebec and Montreal, round-trip transportation, three breakfasts and three dinners, and admission to all scheduled events. In addition to 8 of our own chaperons, our tour company will provide two bilingual guides around the clock. Furthermore, the hotel will provide nighttime security.
The trip is open to all 8th graders who meet the eligibility requirements, including academics and behavior. If you are interested, please join us at the informational meeting which will be held on: Thursday, November 8th at 7:30pm in the Auditorium. Permission slips, eligibility standards and other pertinent information will be discussed. To secure a seat on our trip, families must be present at the meeting. You must submit a signed permission slip, medical information, and a deposit of $ 295.00, as soon as possible, but no later than Friday, November 16th.
