| Directions: To continue the development of critical reading skills necessary for success, students entering the tenth grade College Preparatory English program are expected to read the following works during the summer. Students will complete a project of some kind related to the summer reading. | ||

The second work is one of the student’s choice, but it is recommended that the work be something contemporary that is both interesting and challenging. Many of the local bookstores display summer reading requirements and selections from other high schools. Any of those works or something else from a best-seller list would be appropriate. |
