American University- Washington Summer Scholars
A three week college accredited program for academically motivated students. Students can take a three credit college course in the areas of U.S. Politics, Criminal Justice & Forensics, U.S. Foreign Policy, or Journalism & Media at American University. Arcadia UniversityCamp Shakespeare:
Offering 2 two-week sessions for students interested in theater, ages 10-18.  Students ages 15 and older can choose to earn two transferable University credits. Session I: July 7-19, Session II: July 21-August 2. Cost: $680 for each session (non-credit); $790 to earn two University Credits.

Boston University High School Honors:
A six-week residential or commuting program in which a student can take two undergraduate courses (earning up to eight credits), or conduct scientific research under the guidance of a faculty member.  Students must be entering their senior year in the fall of 2008. Boston University Summer Challenge:
A two-week residential program for students entering their 10th, 11th or 12th grade year in the fall of 2008.  This program is ideal for students who want to explore college-level work without the pressure of grades.  Session 1: June 15-27 Session 2: July 6-18 Session 3: July 27 - August 8

Brown University – The Leadership Institute for High School Students:
A two-week residential program for students with exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills.  More information can be found at www.brown.edu/summer or by calling 401-863-7900.

Camp LeBowDrexel University’s LeBow College of Business
Five programs designed for outstanding high school students (Class of 2009 or 2010) with an interest in business.  Applications due by April 25.  More information is available in the guidance office or by calling 215-895-6287.

Carnegie Mellon – Summer Pre-college programs:
Open to rising Juniors or Seniors to spend six weeks in one of six distinct programs: architecture, art, design, drama, music or the national high school game academy. Dates:  June 28 to August 8, 2008.  Applications due May 1st.  Registration information is available in the guidance office or by visiting www.cmu.edu/enrollment/pre-college.

Chestnut Hill College
Summer Scholars Program for Outstanding Sophomores & Juniors:
 Intensive college prep program where students can earn college credit.  Classes meet Monday-Thursday June 27-July 21.  Must have GPA of 3.2 and recommendation.  Courses include German, business, film studies, video production, science in literature, and psychology. 

Columbia UniversitySummer High School Programs:
Pre-college courses for grades 9-12.  More information available at www.ce.columbia.edu/hs.

University of DelawareSummer College Program:
From July 12 – August 16, high school sophomores and juniors have the opportunity to live together in a residence hall and take two freshman-level classes for credit at UD.  More information is available in the guidance office or by visiting www.udel.edu/summercollege.

Drexel University
Summer Reading Skills Programs for students ages 4-adult. Programs are presented as a community service by Drexel University’s Goodwin College of Professional Studies. Classes are taught by professional instructors from the Institute of Reading Development. Tuition and schedules vary. Emma Willard School, New York
“GirlSummer” Residential Programs:
Three two week sessions open to girls grades 7-11.  Sessions are, June 29 - July 11, July 13 - July 25, and July 27 - August 8.  Students choose from the following academic programs:  Creative Writing, Astronomy, Language and Culture (Spanish or French), Mock Trial, Scandals and Mystery, ESL Model UN, Performing Arts, Social Computing, Fine Arts and Digital Media.  More information is available at www.emmawillard.org/summer/residential/ office or by calling 866-397-2267.

The Forensics Mentors Institute  
Summer Research Forensic Mentoring Program for High School Students:
A nine-week program during which students are assigned hands on research projects working under the direction of senior scientists.  Application and more information are available in the guidance office or by calling 215-784-9281. 

Gettysburg College Academic Camps:
Two 2 week sessions are available for 9-12 graders:  June 24-July 6 and July 8-20.  Program choices are:  College Prep, Creative Writing, Spanish, Performing Arts, Psychology, Astronomy, Service and Leadership and US Civil War. George Washington University Summer Scholars Pre-College Program:
10-day mini-courses for rising grades 9-11, June 22- July 2.  Program choices are:  Law & Evidence, Photojournalism, Election Politics, and Biomedical Engineering. 
A 6-week pre-college program for rising seniors, July 6 – August 15.  Includes a writing seminar, undergraduate courses for credit, academic exploration and college life.  More information can be found at www.summerscholars.gwu.edu or by calling 202-242-6802.

Harvard University – Secondary Summer School Program:
Choose from 200 college courses and earn college credit. Mature and academically motivated sophomores, juniors and seniors can apply.  Program dates are June 23 – August 15 More information is available in the guidance office or at www.ssp.harvard.edu

Ithaca CollegeSummer College for High School Students:
Attend small classes and earn college credit in various subject areas.  Choose from a three week session open to current sophomores and juniors (June 29 – July 18), a five week session open to current juniors (June 29 – August 1) or one week mini-courses open to all high school students (July 20-25).  Application deadline is May 1.  More information is available in the guidance office or at www.ithaca.edu/summercollege.

The Junior Statesman Summer School
Located on the campuses of Georgetown, Yale, Princeton, and Stanford, this program includes a rigorous curriculum, student-led debates, and exciting speaker programs.  Serious freshman, sophomore, and junior students who have a passionate interest in politics and current events are encouraged to attend.  There is a program cost but scholarships are available for qualifying students.  Applications and more information are available in the guidance office or at www.jsa.org.

Lebanon Valley College – Daniel Fox Youth Scholars Institute:
A unique week-long academic and social learning experience for exceptional students.  Programs are available in the areas of Arts & Humanities, Sciences, and Social Sciences.  June 22 – 27.  There is a $440 fee for room, board, and extracurricular activities.  For more information, go to www.lvc.edu/youth-scholars or visit the guidance office.

Oxford Advanced Studies Program – Summer 2007:
July 1 – July 25 at Somerville College, Oxford.  High school sophomores and juniors in good academic standing are encouraged to apply.  The cost of the program includes board and course fees.  Visit www.oasp.ac.uk for more information or visit the guidance office to view the brochure. 

Penn State University (Summer Study at Penn State), Summer Study in Colorado, or Summer Study in Paris:
“Big Ten”, “Big Mountains”, or “Big City” – the choice is theirs!  High school students can earn college credit and/or participate in enrichment courses and the Kaplan SAT Preparation in any of the Summer Study Programs.  More information is available in the guidance office or by visiting www.bestsummerever.com

Penn State’s Conservation Leadership School:

Summer Science at Thomas Jefferson University:
Four week program in which high school students study a variety of the Biomedical Sciences. Program Dates June 23th – July 18th. Deadline is April 25th. Scholarships are available. More information is available in the guidance office or by visiting www.jefferson.edu/sciencecamp

Temple University – Introduction to Electrical and Computer Engineering
A two-credit college course that will run 5 weeks on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 9:30 – 11:45 am, beginning on July 3rd and ending on August 2nd.  Students must be recommended and the deadline for applications is May 9.  More information is available in the guidance office or by calling (215) 204-8089 or my emailing helferty@temple.edu

Tufts UniversityEuropean CenterTufts Summit

University of the Arts
Offers college level courses in Visual and Performing Arts and Media Communication for rising juniors and seniors. Programs include Acting, Art and Media, Dance, Jazz, and Musical Theater. US Performing Arts Camp
UCLA, Stanford, University of Connecticut, Pepperdine, American University, California State Long Beach, University of Texas Austin, University of Cincinnati, Oberlin College, Rutgers
Students may choose from Acting, Musical Theater, Hip Hop Theater, Playwriting/Screenwriting, Performance for the Camera, Dance, Television Sit Com Writing and Acting, Beginning Digital Filmmaking, Advanced Digital Filmmaking, Television News, Animation, Dance for the Musical Theater Stage, and Voice.  Dates, tuition, and age requirements vary with each program.  More information is available in the guidance office or by visiting www.usperformingarts.com.

West Point Summer Leaders Seminar-
Summer programs offered to Junior’s interested in learning more about cadet life at West Point. Seminars offer a variety of courses. Seminar dates June 7th –June 13th and June 14th – June 20th.
