Overview
Students will interact with a variety of materials, discover physical characteristics that are similar and unique to specific types of materials, and describe shape, texture, color, relative position of objects to each other

  • Observe, describe, and sort various materials based on properties.
  • Separate earth materials by physical characteristics using different techniques.
  • Observe the similarities and differences in materials.

  • Organize and communicate observations through drawing, writing, and oral language.
  • Acquire the vocabulary associated with sorting and classifying.
  • Acquire skills to use tools and scientific techniques to make better observations.
