Target Population:

• Grades 9—12
• Students whose native or dominant language is other than English

Course Focus:

• English instruction for social and academic discourse
• English instruction for use in content areas, i.e., language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, health/physical education
• Instruction to aid in the acculturation process, i.e., American history, culture & social mores
• Preparation for American standardized tests, e.g., PSSAs, PSATs, SATs, TOEFL
