An Instructional Management Cycle for
Continuous Improvement has been developed and implemented in UMSD
to better coordinate a number of processes in the curriculum. The
Cycle provides a framework for curriculum, instruction, professional
development, and assessment. The framework defines phases necessary
for the development of a standards-based curriculum within each
cycle area.
It is defined by five phases:
Planning
Development
Implementation
Assessment
Monitoring
The goal of this process is to sustain quality
of instruction and promote student performance with the best standards-based
resources and practices available.
