The Upper Moreland Township School District employs various persons to perform specialized services, as independent contractors.  As such, the School District does not direct these individuals in the means or methods of performing the services, other than to require compliance with applicable laws and regulations, but rather the School District directs, or contracts the ultimate work product to be delivered, in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.  If appropriate, contractors will be required at their own expense to provide necessary/requested clearances.

Independent contractors are not employees of the District, and are not entitled to the salary or benefits provided by the District to its employees, including, but not limited to, group insurance, state pension plan enrollment, vacation, leave of absence, workers’ compensation insurance, or unemployment compensation insurance.

The Superintendent, in consultation with the Solicitors, shall develop and revise as necessary, an employment contract to be executed by the School District and the individual when employing such persons.
