Purpose
Proper school district operation requires that adequate basic insurance programs be provided for the protection of the district, school board, employees and volunteers of the district.

Authority
The Board has the authority and responsibility to provide adequate insurance coverage to protect the district's interests.  Such coverage shall be in accordance with the following guidelines.

General Liability coverage for the district shall provide coverage for claims resulting from Bodily Injury, Property Damage, Personal Injury, Advertising Injury, Products and Complete Operations. Coverage will extend to Teachers Liability including Corporal Punishment, Incidental Malpractice, Host-Liquor Liability, Sexual Abuse or Molestation, and Employee Benefits Liability.  Coverage will be afforded to all Board Members, employees, and volunteers of the district.

Coverage for error and omissions of the Board Members, employees and volunteers shall be provided and will include discrimination, and employment practice liability.

Automobile liability insurance shall be provided for those using district vehicles or district grounds equipment.

The District further agrees to indemnify and hold harmless, including counsel fees and costs, the Board Members, the members of the Authority and all Administrators, past or present, against  whom any claim is made arising out of their duties and functions, that is not covered by any insurance policies carried by the District, so long as the act giving rise to the claim is not a criminal act.
