Purpose
It is the policy of the Board of School Directors that the school
district shall acquire and use federal surplus property whenever possible.
Authority
All purchases of federal surplus property shall be authorized
by the Superintendent or his designee. Authorized agents of the district
who may make purchases shall be certified on the Representative Certification
Form GSSSO-6 and submitted to the Federal Surplus Property Division, Bureau
of Supplies and Surplus Operations Warehouse(s) visited.
Guidelines
Except for vehicular equipment, whenever the total cost for surplus
property exceeds $500 during a warehouse visit, the authorized purchase
agent shall contact the Superintendent (or his designee) immediately for
further authorization.
