Purpose
The Board recognizes that employee involvement at all levels of the organization is critical to protect the safety and health of our employees.

Authority
The Board directs that there shall be a continuous program for workplace safety that will help prevent injury and illness due to hazards.

Delegation of Authority
The Superintendent or designee shall establish a joint employee/management safety committee to meet on a regular basis in a non-adversarial and cooperative effort to assist in the development of rules to prevent injury and illness due to hazards.  Employee involvement at all levels of the organization is critical in order to be successful in this effort.  The joint employee/management safety committee shall meet on a regular basis to bring employees and management together in a non-adversarial and cooperative effort to promote safety and health in the workplace.
The committee will assist the Safe Schools Committee in making recommendations for change.

The Board shall be made aware of any material safety and health issues.
