Purpose
The successful functioning of the district depends on the proper placement of qualified and competent personnel. The assignment and transfer of professional and temporary professional employees within the district shall be in accordance with the needs of the district and these guidelines.

Authority
The Board shall approve the initial assignment of professional personnel at the time of employment. An employee may be assigned or transferred to any position in the school district to do the work for which the employee is qualified.

Delegation of Responsibility
The Superintendent or designee may make assignment consistent with the above for assignment or reassignment.

Negotiated collective bargaining agreements may supersede provisions of this policy when they prescribe conditions enumerated in or affected by this policy.
