Purpose
It is the policy of the Board that the district may conduct a
summer program of:

remedial and enrichment
instruction at the:
Authority
In order to support a program of summer instruction, the Board
will:
-
employ teaching
and administrative staff.
-
purchase such books,
materials, supplies and equipment as may be necessary.
-
utilize school
or other facilities as required.
-
provide necessary
custodial services.
Students eligible for
the summer school of this district shall include:
-
resident students
eligible for regular attendance in the public schools of this district.
-
students eligible
by standards established by the governmental funding source.

nonresident students,
with the approval of the Superintendent, whose age or grade level
is appropriate to the course of study applied for, provided that
the attendance of such students will not preclude the attendance
of resident students. Non-resident students will be required
to abide by the Upper Moreland School District Codes of Conduct.
Tuition fees, as
determined by the Superintendent or designee, shall be charged
to all students.
With regard to transportation,
the Board does not accept responsibility for any student.
Responsibility
The Superintendent shall be responsible for developing regulations for:
- planning the summer school curriculum.
- recommending appropriate staff appointments.
- suggesting methods of instruction.
- pupil and staff assignments.
- evaluation and reporting on pupil progress.
- utilization of facilities.
- such regulations for the operation of the summer school shall be
consistent with Board policies, and the operation of summer school
shall not conflict in any way with the administration of the regular
school sessions of this district.
